CAS + Washi

Scrolling through my Pinterest "Cards inspiration" board, I came by a fabulous card with washi tape made by Scrappin' Cats. I used it as an inspiration for this quick and easy CAS card. I had to play around with some embellishments before I found the right ones. For me it's always hard to decide which embellishments look right and where to put them, how many to put etc. But I'm feeling very happy about these ones by Rayher, which are one of my favorites.

Tonight I made a real wintercard. I started again at Pinterest and found this nice design at Bij Oma Dee. I used winter design paper from Bo Bunny, MFT STAX dies and a sweet Mr. Snowy, also by MFT.

Butterflies

Tonight I took my Big Shot and started with my newest embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I used this glimmer paper, and also found a yellow envelope with the same kind of glimmer, to make a yellow buttefly with the Sizzix standard dies. I really like this butterfly, it's just beautiful. Great to use for a thank you card like this one.

CAS and Washi

I got inspired by those cards using just a few pieces of washi tape and a big sentiment. To give you a nice example: visit Michelle's blog! I had my own take on this idea, by using a stamp of Noor! Design. It says "Congratulations" and then different options like "with your birthday" and "with your new home". I have had this one for a while, but didn't find the right purpose to use it. But here it finally is!

And here it is! The same stamp set, but the other stamps. And of course my new die-namics. I'm quite happy about the background I made with the haystack stamp. Maybe I should have put the text in black, to make it pop more out, but this is fine too. I used "Glossy Accents" to give a thick, glossy layer to my images. Very cool effect! It was a little hard to focus right, but I hope you can see the effect.

How are things growin'?

A new day and new stamp and dies from My Favorite Things on my doormat! So here's my first card where I use the stamp of the farmer girl. I love the stiched border of this die, which makes me want to join challenge #67 at Allways Something Creative blog I used the sketch of Your Next Stamp Challenge again, so this will be my second entry over there. I also like to join #9 Anything Goes challenge at the Crafty Girls Challenges blog.

A second creation with this stamp and die set is waiting to dry, so I'll post another card within a few hours or so!

Tonight I looked around at Nicole's Craft Nook and she used a fabulous image of All Dressed Up, which made me want to join their challenge. I used one of their freebies, which they kindly provided. I actually want to buy some of their images, but I have to save some money first, before buying more craft materials, haha. I got myself inspired by this card made by Lisa, which has an amazing blog: Wishcraft. So maybe you want to take a look there too!

Washi and fun

I really like this sketch on the Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge blog and found some great inspirations on the web for this one. Fortunately I still had a gift card to spend, so I bought some new washi tape and fabric tape. They combine perfectly with my new Copic colors BG10, BG11 and BG13: happy me! Great Impressions - Use something new

Ik vond deze schets van Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge blog zo leuk, dat ik er ook mee aan de slag wilde. ik had al verschillende mooie voorbeelden gezien. Gelukkig had ik nog een cadeaubon liggen, waarvoor ik nog wat nieuwe washi tape en textiel tape heb gekocht. Ze bleken ook nog eens perfect te passen bij mijn nieuwe Copic kleuren BG10, BG11 en BG13. Not a lot of crafting going on here, despite my good moment a few hours ago (see previous post). However, my crafty mind was still busy, but on the internet. I love the scroll down all those different blogs of yours. And every blog takes me further into the world of paper, stamps and colors. Love it!

Because creativity is something you need to do...

Do you recognize this? Spending an awful lot of time on browsing on the internet at your favorite webshops, staring at products you might want to buy, but not doing anything crafty for real? This tempted to be that kind of evening, but finally I got myself away from my computer and into my craft stuff. 

But first, I looked around at my Pinterest board for some inspiration. I came across a beautiful card by Tracy on the All Dressed up Challenge blog. You can see her amazing card here! I used this design/layout and gave it my own twist. I also used the easy technique of lining out an image to make it a bit popping up from the background, which I found earlier this week at Tip Top Tuesday. I found that BG70, a color I find usually hard to use in my coloring because it is too light, is perfect for this purpose!

Herken je dat? Dat je veel te veel tijd doorbrengt met het rondneuzen op je favoriete webshops, starend naar nieuwe spulletjes die je misschien wil hebben, maar dat je ondertussen niet daadwerkelijk creatief aan het werk gaat? Het leek voor mij zo'n avond te worden, maar uiteindelijk heb ik mezelf achter de computer vandaan weten te krijgen.

Maar voordat het zover was, heb ik eerst op mijn Pinterest board rondgekeken voor wat inspiratie. Ik had eerder deze super mooie kaart van Tracy gevonden op de All Dressed up Challenge blog. Bekijk haar kaart hier! Ik heb ook gebruik gemaakt van een techniek die ik eerder deze week tegenkwam om het plaatje wat meer naar voren te laten komen. Ik vond de techniek op Tip Top Tuesday en eigenlijk is het heel simpel: je trekt gewoon een dun lijntje rondom het hele plaatje. Ik kwam erachter dat BG70, een kleur die ik normaal lastig te gebruiken vind omdat hij zo licht is, hier heel geschikt voor is.

Natuurlijk doe ik ook weer graag mee aan een challenge. Zie hierboven!

Vanochtend was ik op zoek naar wat inspiratie, waarbij ik langs de blog van Inkspirational Challenges kwam. Ik besloot mee te doen aan hun challenge #47, waarvoor je elke kleur geel en bruin mocht gebruiken. Toen ik mijn voorraad dook, kwam ik deze bloemen tegen, die precies van pas kwamen. Dus, dit is mijn resultaat!

Another card tonight! I wanted to use this design paper for a long time, but didn't had a good idea for it yet. But tonight I came across the YNS challenge blog and found their sketch and image as an inspiration for my card. The idea for the cut out of the owl came from the sketch, while the colors match the inspirational photo. Therefore, I'd like to enter the YNS Fun Friday challenge #8 with this card.

Nog een kaartje vanavond! Ik wilde dit design papier al een tijdje gebruiken, maar wist niet zo goed hoe. Gelukkig kwam ik vanavond langs de YNS challenge blog. Ik heb hun schets en inspiratiefoto gebruikt als inspiratie voor mijn kaart. De schets bracht me op het idee voor het uitsnijden van de uil en de inspiratiefoto heb ik vooral voor de kleuren gebruikt. Ik doe graag mee aan de YNS Fun Friday challenge #8.

Presents

I wish you all a wonderful 2014! I started this year with ordering a Big Shot for my birthday! I'll be picking it up tomorrow, I'm so excited! Finally I join the big world of die cuts and embossing. I'm really looking forward to use it. But for now, I'd like to show you my newest card.

I used a technique called "Shadow Painting". It actually uses a kind of water soluble paint and a special liner that prevents the colors from blending. However, my liner appeared to be dried out after laying for a year in my stash. But, fortunately you can use these paints without the liner to make beautiful backgrounds. So maybe I'll use that for one of my next cards.

Ik wens jullie allemaal een heel mooi 2014! Ik ben dit jaar goed begonnen door voor mijn verjaardag een Big Shot te bestellen! Morgen kan ik hem ophalen en ik heb nu al zin om er mee aan de slag te gaan! Maar voor nu wil ik jullie graag mijn nieuwste kaartje laten zien.

Ik heb deze kaart gemaakt met "Shadow Painting", een techniek die gebruik maakt van een verf op waterbasis en een speciale liner die er voor zorgt dat de kleuren niet in elkaar overlopen. Helaas is mijn liner na een jaar in de kast te hebben gelegen zo goed als uitgedroogd, dus die kan ik na dit kaartje niet meer gebruiken. Gelukkig kun je de verf ook heel goed gebruiken om achtergronden mee te maken. Wie weet doe ik dat bij een volgende kaart.
